Landy's First Tooth

Earlier this month I took Landy in for her 4 month check up and she is growing too fast!! She is in the 75% for her weight and 95% for her height. Our doctor looked at her when he first came in and said WOW that's a big boy he's really solid. I laughed and told him she's a girl. He felt so bad. I really thought since she was born early she would be a small baby but, she isn't having any problem catching up. The doctor said she had a very strong neck and she could see perfect. She did really well with her shots. Then sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning her first tooth broke. I didn't really even know she was cutting teeth until a few days before. She has been a really happy baby and sleeping good at night. She has been a little cranky here and there but nothing that bad. I really hope the rest of her teeth are that easy.

I decide to finish up some sewing projects I had laying around during nap time today. I had to share a few of them... This is a dress I made for my cute little niece.

This is Dirk's new little toy. I was in a hurry to finish it and will have to go back and fix it later. No it's not a purse, it's a man bag...

That folds out to this. You can't really see in the picture but it has a pocket with a zipper to put a few of his cars. I'm gonna have to still fix the road but it will do for now. I think it looks good for no pattern.

We are going on vacation soon and little lady needed a little hat to keep the sun off her head. I found this pattern a long time ago and was scared to try it. It's old t-shirt that I cut up. It looks better in real life then in this picture I'm thinking of making another one.

Warning really long post... Here is a little of what we have been up to the last month... Luke celebrated his 29th birthday on June 11. We also had our 6 year wedding anniversary in June 17. He has been busy around the house with our summer projects like painting the outside of the house, getting new windows and cutting down trees. He has also been on call with his work (so he had a lot of late nights) and some overtime. I have been busy with the kiddos. Doing a few small crafts here and there. Spending a little time with my little sister since she moved back home. Dirk has been a busy body and sneaks outside whenever he gets the chance to (thank heavens for the child proof locks on the doors). We signed him up for pre-school and he will start in September. He got to go meet his teacher and he had a blast at her house. He is a huge helper with his sister. He still can't stop kissing her and I think it drivers her crazy a little. He has got to go to the Air Plane Museum at HAFB. We have taken him over to play at the splash pad. Landy is growing like crazy!! She is sleeping wonderful most nights. She goes to sleep around 11 or 12 and gets up to eat around 6 and goes back to sleep until Dirk wakes up. I wish she would go to bed a little earlier but at least she is sleeping 6 hours. She has started rolling over. She has started to love playing with toys and is still trying to figure out how her hands work. She talks a lot and giggles. She's really a happy baby almost all the time. She is a little clingy to me which is a little hard at times. I'm hoping that will get a little easier. We have had a very busy summer so far full of lots of fun activities. It has really made me appreciate the little moments at home when I can just sit back and enjoy my family. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who helps with everything. He would do anything for us and I'm so grateful for that. I am so blessed to have my two sweet little babies. I really feel so lucky to get to stay home with them. They have the sweetest little spirits and they are teaching me so much more then I could ever learn anywhere else. We are finally back. I'm so not a computer person and I think Luke gets tired of showing me over and over how to use all the new stuff on the computer. So I haven't been taking a ton of picture because I couldn't figure out how to put them on the computer, but now I have figured it out and can do it on my own. Not a lot has been happening in our home lately. Dirk loves going outside (when the rain pauses for a minute). I have had to put locks on the door to make sure he doesn't get out. He also for some reason loves locking people out so we have to make sure to take keys with us whenever we step out. He loves jumping on the tramp and riding his scooter he got for Easter and is getting pretty good at riding. With the weather we have been having it's been really hard to get all the things we need to get done outside, done. We got an apple tree from my grandparent for Dirk and finally got it planted this last week. Dirk is so excited to have apple and it's a 4 in 1 so it will have 4 different kinds of apples on one tree. We still want to finish cutting a big dead tree in the backyard and paint our house before we get our new windows. Landy is doing wonderful and still growing like a weed. We took her to her 2 month appointment this week and she is 11.4 pounds and 22 1/2 inches tall and in the 75% of everything. She got all her shot and did pretty good with them. She was a little fussy not to much and had a small fever. She's starting to get really active and smiling (finally all my hard work is paying off). She is cooing and looking around taking everything all in. She is out growing a lot of cloths and I'm praying her blessing dress still fits when we bless her. She is really starting to get chunky and we love her little rolls. She is still really a good baby except for not sleeping at night (she wants to sleep all day and party all night.) Which is hard with Dirk. I'm getting any naps. So here are some random picture of what we have been up to.... Here is the dress that Luke bought when we were in the hospital. Sleeping baby.

Well a lot has happened in the last month. Where to start?... Dirk has finished potty training himself. I was so proud of him. He was doing really good before we had the baby except for #2. He would not do that on the potty. We tried stickers, toys, treats and nothing would work. Finally the day after we brought Landy home from the hospital he just started going in and doing. He would go in and take care of his business then call us to come see. It has been wonderful and I'm so happy I don't have to change his diapers anymore. It has really been a blessing. He is doing so well with Landy. People have tried to trade him candy and toys for the baby but he has decided she is his and he's not going to giver her away to anyone. We are trying to make sure he gets is special time with us. We have been also doing fun little projects while Landy sleeps and I think that is helping too. Landy is growing like a weed!! She is getting so big, so fast. It makes me a little sad I really want her and Dirk to stay little forever. She is a really good baby. She goes with the flow of things and has no problems as long as her tummy is full. She is sleeping pretty good once I get her to bed. She likes to stay up and watch the late show. She loves watching Dirk play. She is smiling a little, and talks a lot. She is very vocal at times. I can't wait for her to show more and more of her personality. Right now she is just a sweet little lady. I have also enjoyed seeing all the nicknames we have given her. Dirk has so many and I wondered what we would come up with for her. Dirk's were Dirky Doo, Doo, Dirky Turkey, Bubba, Little Man and on and on. Landy's so far are Lando Commando (that is what Dirk calls her), Girl friend, Lil' Ladybug, Bug and Lady I don't think we ever call her just Landy. Well sorry there are no new pictures on this post. We bought a new computer and our memory card won't work in it. We have to get a converter and that is Luke's job. So hopefully soon we will get some pictures up.
